The Undersecretary of Primary Care of the City of Buenos Aires, Gabriel Battistella, confirmed this Wednesday that “before the weekend or the weekend” they will be announcing registration to vaccinate against covid-19 for those over 35 years of age without risk factors.
“We are finishing between today and tomorrow with a very intense vaccination, we are going to beat the record of 36 thousand vaccinated in the 40-44 range. So between today and tomorrow we will finish and before the weekend or the weekend we will be announcing the next five-year period, which is 35 to 39 years, “he said in dialogue with Luis Novaresio in Radio La Red.
The last group that enabled the City of Buenos Aires was precisely those over 40 years old, up to 44 years old, without pre-existing diseases. And although the Minister of Health, Fernán Quirós, had announced that they would prioritize the application of second doses before opening a new group, finally it will be the turn for a new age group.
Battistella, in turn, stated that it is likely that this week they are already applying in the City second doses of Sputnik V vaccine who arrived in the country in the last hours: “If they arrive tomorrow, on Friday we will already be applying the component.”

On the record mentioned by Battistella, the figure would exceed the 35,764 people who received a dose of the Sputnik V, AstraZeneca or Sinopharm vaccine against the coronavirus on Tuesday. According to data from the Buenos Aires government, since the beginning of the vaccination plan, 1,415,202 people have already been vaccinated with one dose and 383,744 completed the immunization with the second.
The official also referred to the possibility of mixing doses of different vaccines and stated that, as the Buenos Aires government had already announced, the combination is being “evaluated, not only for the second dose, but because it is very likely that the combination of different platforms give more coverage on mutations“.
