The fine followed a failure to comply with an antitrust order pending in 2020. Then the FAS found that the company imposed certain conditions on hotels and hotels, because of which they could not offer lower prices through other channels than on Booking.com. The service considered it a restriction of competition and infringement of the rights of the hotel business.
Booking.com is now awaiting the results of an appeal against the FAS opinion regarding the price parity practice. The amount of the fine reaches 1.3 billion rubles, the department itself announced the decision earlier.
