The bonds we form with a pet are so strong that they end up becoming part of the family. At the point where many French people want to rest alongside their cat or dog. a law allowing people to be buried with his deceased pet. The youngest are more inclined to see a promulgated text (80% of those under 35), reports the Huffington Post. Men and women seem to agree, only three points separate them (66% for women versus 69% for men).

A bill to this effect has been tabled by 27 deputies on February 8th. If it were voted on, anyone could decide to be buried. alongside his pet. A private individual could request “during his burial in a communal cemetery, his sides, within his coffin, before the setting in coffin, the cinerary urn of his animals”.
Dog owners more prone
But it’s not because the French are dog friendly
such a disposition that they will take the plunge. Only 45% of pet owners are willing to be buried with their animal if the law were to be passed. Dog handlers are more inclined to being buried with their animal (51%) than cat owners (47%). Young people are once again more sensitive to rest in peace with their pet (63%).
In France, mixing humans and animals is not allowed, unlike in France. Germany, the United Kingdom or even Switzerland. However, dogs and cats, and all small pets can be buried in an approved pet cemetery.
