This supply plane is the fifth of its kind that the Emirates sends to Mauritania, and includes, in addition to vaccines, 15 tons of medical supplies and examination devices.
The UAE ambassador to Mauritania, Hamad Ghanem Al Muhairi, said: “The UAE and Mauritania have brotherly relations and promising and fruitful cooperation in many areas that serve common interests.” Mauritania is making efforts to protect its people from the spread of the Covid-19 virus and to control it, by providing the necessary vaccines to vaccinate various groups of society, especially the groups most vulnerable to the risks and infection of the virus.
He pointed out that since April 2020, the UAE has sent four planes to Mauritania carrying nearly 35 tons of medical supplies and vaccines, according to the Emirates News Agency, WAM.
It is worth noting that last July, the UAE established a field hospital in Nouakchott, “Mohammed bin Zayed Hospital”, equipped with all medical equipment and medicines, in addition to 200 beds to treat people infected with the Corona virus.
