The US Treasury Department announced this Wednesdayeconomic sanctions against an illegal oil trafficking and money laundering network that has generated hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue for the regime in Iran and the Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah.
In a statement, the department led by Janet Yellen assured that this network is led by members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard of Iran and that it has the support of high-ranking officials of the Russian Government and of public bodies of that country.
Those sanctioned are the Russia-based firm RPP Limited Liability Company ; its current director, Mihrab Suhrab Hamidi, and its former director Kamaluddin Gulam Nabizada.
The company has also been sanctioned with headquarters in the United Arab Emirates Zamanoil DMCC; the Iranians Mohammad Sadegh Karimian, Alireza Kashanimehr, Azim Monzavi and Esam Ettehadi; and the Turks Hakki Selcuk Sanli, Abdulhamid Celik, Abdulaziz Kaskariy and Seyyid Cemal Gunduz.
Completing the list are the companies Turkoca Import Export Transit Co., Ltd, Concept Screen SAL Off-Shore, China Haokun Energy Limited, Haokun Energy Group Company Limited, Petro China Pars Co., Fujie Petrochemical Zhoushan Co., Ltd. and Shandong Sea Right Petrochemical Co. Ltd.
“The United States remains fully committed to imposing costs on the Iranian regime for its support of terrorist groups destabilizing the Middle East,” US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in a statement at the publication of the sanctions.

The sanctions issued by the Treasury mean that all the properties of the affected individuals or organizations on US soil are blocked and prohibited. US citizens to maintain commercial transactions with them.
Hours earlier, this Tuesday, the US Treasury Department had announced economic sanctions against four people and six entities linked to the financing of the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas.
In a statement, the US Treasury branded those sanctioned as “financial facilitators” of Hamas for having contributed to raising funds through the management of the international investment portfolio of the Palestinian group.
The most prominent of the individuals sanctioned is Abdullah Yusuf Faisal Sabri, a Jordanian citizen based in Kuwait who works as an accountant for the Hamas Ministry of Finance and who since 2018 manages the organization’s operating expenses funds.
According to the United States Government , under Sabri’s supervision there would have been transfers of large sums of money to Hamas from Iran and Saudi Arabia.
The others sanctioned are the also Jordanian Ahmed Sharif Abdalá Odeh , who managed Hamas’s international investment portfolio until 2017;Osama Ali, who succeeded him; and Hisham Yunes Yehia Qafishe, his main deputy in that position.
The sanctioned entities, meanwhile, are Agrogate Holding, Trend GYO, Al Rorad Real Estate Development, Anda Company, Sidar Company and Itqan Real Estate JSC, all of them in the field of finance or real estate operations and through which funds would have been transferred to Hamas.
