After a police control on Route 5, Carabineros from the Subcommission de Los Vilos managed to arrest two men who were clandestinely transferring 61 migrants to the Metropolitan region.
This Thursday afternoon, Carabineros from the Los Vilos sub-commission station, Coquimbo region, detained < strong>two men who were transferring illegal migrants from the north to the center of the country.
Specifically, during a police control on Route 5, the uniformed officers stopped a bus two-story. After the inspection, it was discovered that 61 migrants were being transported clandestinely.
The vehicle was traveling from the north of the country, towards the Metropolitan region.

100,000 tickets for illegal migrants
For his part, Lieutenant Manuel Riquelme, from Los Vilos, said that the two detainees had received a sum of &# 36;100 thousand to each person to make the trip.
“These people entered the country through an illegal passage. We verified that they had charged him a sum of money ($100 thousand) to carry out the transfer“, Riquelme explained.
Ultimately, the driver and passenger were arrested. These records were made available to the Public Ministry, in order to investigate a possible trafficking of migrants.
