Ukrainian authorities reported this Friday the start of construction of a fence on the border with Belarus, a country that the international community accuses of collaborating with Russia < /strong>in the war started by the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, now more than eight months ago.
The deputy head of the Office of the President, Kirilo Timoshenko, told through his Telegram profile that the civilian population has mobilized with Army troops to erect some of these border barriers.
Timoshenko explained that in the Volhynia region, in the northwest of the country, parallel to the construction of this barrier reinforced concrete surmounted by concertinas, a ditch was dug and an embankment was placed with the help of the civilian population. “About 3 kilometers have already been repaired”, he celebrated.

Work continues in other neighboring regions such as Zhitomir and Rivne and in turn, Timoshenko points out, “ building fortifications and reinforcing the borders in the regions bordering Russia”.
“It is important that regional governments and local businesses are continuously working on repairing the borders. We all want to be protected and do everything possible to stop even a hypothetical enemy advance”, said the senior official of the Presidency of Ukraine.
