Valentino Rossi has just announced in a press conference that he will hang up his helmet at the end of this season. After 25 years of top-level racing, it’s over. The end of an era.
It was still speculation whether Valentino Rossi would continue next year. With a new sponsor for his VR46 team in the form of Aramco, a Saudi sports promoter, it was suggested that the Saudi prince behind the event demanded Rossi to race with the team for another year. But Valentino Rossi has not succumbed to that pressure and will stop at the end of this season.
“It’s a sad moment because next year I won’t be racing any more. My life will change. But it’s been good. I enjoyed it.”
With those words, Valentino Rossi signaled that his career as a MotoGP is coming to an end. But he also immediately indicated that he will continue to race, but on four wheels.
