This is the third launch of OneWeb devices from this spaceport in the Russian Far East.
The Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle took off this Sunday from the Vostochny cosmodrome in the Russian Far East, aboard 36 British OneWeb communications satellites. The launch took place at 22:14 GMT.
This is the third fully commercial launch from this spaceport. The previous launch of OneWeb devices from the East took place on March 25th. The aircraft will be launched into orbit at an altitude of 450 kilometers.
OneWeb plans to create a constellation of low-orbit satellites that will provide users around the world with broadband high-speed Internet access, covering all corners of the Earth. In total, the company intends to deploy about 600 satellites in Earth orbit.
