The Washington Spirit, team of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), has been in the eye of the húracan in recent weeks for various issues. The most recent has been the cancellation of their last two games (against OL Reign and Portland) for breaking the protocols of COVID-19, a serious error that caused the team in the capital of the United States to leave six points on the table and they will go down to sixth place on the table. But even more serious, that they put the health of their footballers and that of other teams at risk.
In a statement shared on its social media, Spirit said very little about the issue at hand. Still, he acknowledged what he had done and vowed to be better in the future. And as expected, it left everyone with many questions.
