In his interview with Sky News Arabia, Salji added: “But this is not the only factor in the matter, but rather only helping factors. The fans of these clubs have not used such slogans over the past years. In fact, there is popular frustration with Syrian refugees, caused by the lack of job opportunities and the increase in unemployment. And sensitivity to strangers, and accumulated detailed things related to the structure of Turkish society.”
A few days ago, the Turkish capital, Ankara, witnessed violent incidents against Syrian homes and shops, after the killing of a young Turkish man at the hands of a Syrian person. The attacks, which continued throughout the night of last Wednesday-Thursday, affected more than 400 homes and shops, including dozens of Syrian-owned cars, in the Batal Gazi area in the center of the capital, Ankara.
About 3.5 million Syrian refugees reside in Turkey, under temporary residence papers, under which they receive some health and education services.
