EA, the famous Italian company, has recently confirmed that it will not place advertising in its video games, officially denying these rumors. This information originally appeared online, claiming that the company had even signed a contract.
The news was released following a report by the newspaper Axios, where a new advertising system called playerWON was mentioned, thanks to which advertisements would appear in video games on PC and consoles.
Electronic Arts, which is currently busy with the preparations of the EA Play, contacted the newspaper PC Gamer, declaring that the much talked about agreement does not exist. This denial, however, does not completely remove the shadows on playerWON, as only EA has confirmed that they are not in negotiations.
Following some incorrect reports suggesting our research regarding the introduction of “TV-style” advertising in our games, we want to clarify that commercials within console games are not something we meet, or that we have signed. any type of agreement for their implementation.
