After 20 years i Taliban have regained control of theAfghanistan. After the attack on Kabul airport on Thursday 26 August, claimed by theIsis-K, a US-launched drone killed an ISIS terrorist in Nangarhar province. According to the US military, the victim is one of the planners of the attack at Kabul airport. “There is still an active threat” of terrorist attacks in Kabul: Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said. “We will defend ourselves from worst-case scenarios”. The United States promises a “quick and powerful response” to any threat. Below is the latest news on the situation in Afghanistan:

07.00 – US withdrawal completed: the last American plane left Kabul – The US’s 20-year war in Afghanistan officially ends. Shortly after midnight, the last American plane left Kabul. This was announced by General Kenneth F. McKenzie, head of Centcom, the unified command of the American armed forces: “We left Afghanistan with the troops and the rest of the basic diplomatic personnel. The last to leave the country were Ambassador Ross Wilson and General Chris Donahue – he said – Not all American citizens who wanted to have managed to leave Afghanistan. But in total, the US and coalition airlift led to the evacuation of over 123,000 civilians ”.
The Taliban, shortly after the completion of the US withdrawal, celebrated in the streets of Kabul.
