USA, after January 6, the military removed Trump’s access to nuclear weapons
The US military, terrified by the idea that Donald Trump could launch an attack on China after the electoral defeat, removed access to nuclear weapons from the outgoing president: he reveals it For the, the new book that the journalist of the Washington Post Bob Woodward, author in the 1970s together with Carl Bernstein of the investigation into the Watergate scandal, always wrote with a colleague of the authoritative newspaper, Robert Costa.
The volume, out in the States on 21 September, but partly anticipated by the Cnn, traces Donald Trump’s final days in the White House.
According to the book, General Mark Milley, Chief of the Unified Staff, on a couple of occasions, on October 30, 4 days before the presidential election, and on January 8, two days after the assault on Capitol Hill, secretly called his Chinese colleague, General Li Zuocheng, to reassure him that the US had no intention of militarily attacking China.
Milley also independently decided on January 8 to limit the possibility that Trump would order an attack. After the siege of the US Congress, in fact, the military was convinced that the outgoing president was “in the throes of a serious mental decline following the elections”.
