The open beta of Back 4 Blood is underway and PC and console players are enjoying the new work of Turtle Rock Studios. Speaking to VG247, lead producer Matt O’Driscoll talked about the fact that the depth of field (field of view or FOV for simplicity) is a popular option on PS5 and Xbox Series X and said the team is thinking about it.
This obviously does not mean that the FOV will be introduced on the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of Back 4 Blood. This is not a confirmation: Turtle Rock Studios only confirms that it has received the feedback of the players. What will certainly be available at launch will be the presence of more intelligent AI bots: in the beta they have not particularly convinced, but O’Driscoll explains that they will be improved in time for launch. Turtle Rock Studios is also working on game balance.
Back 4 Blood: one of the monstrous creatures that we will have to face
Finally, it was also specified that – despite a lower frame rate on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One – Back 4 Blood’s abilities and number of zombies are the same across all platforms. Players can therefore rest assured: the experience will be no different on old-gen.
