Manse PP chose seventh in the regular season instead of eighth in the regular season. For others who qualified, the weakest of the remaining qualifiers were eligible.
Men Manse PP from Tampere, who won the Superpesis regular season for the first time, surprised the series at the semi-finals selection on Wednesday by deviating from the usual formula. Manse PP did not want to face the eighth place Pattijoki Athletes, but chose Imatra’s Pallo-Veikos as their opponent in the first round.
“Someone from there had to be picked up and couldn’t think so that some team would be easy or that we could get there easily. Reporting had to be done, but a unified line was found,” Manse PP’s game director Matti Iivarista was quoted in the series website.
Of the Imatra players, only five players have played in the playoffs in the past. In total, the IPV team has 58 playoff experience.

Regular season the second Vimpelin Veto no longer left to mix the pack again, but took Pattijoki, which was passed by Mansen. There is no lack of experience in the match pair, when the batting king of this season, Vimpelin, was born in 1981 Janne Mäkelä gets faced with a year younger Sami Haapakoski, Topi Kososen and Jari Törmänen. Haapakoski, Kosonen and Törmänen have all played more than 100 playoffs in their careers.
The sixth in the regular season, Kempeleen Kiri, who is playing for the first time in the men’s Superpesis playoffs, was a suitable opponent for the Kouvola Ball Beaters. Jymy Sotkamo and Maila Joensuu will compete in the fourth semi-final pair.
The semi-finals start on Friday. Reaching the semifinals requires three wins.
