A bus driver was convicted of quasi-criminal injuries serious and did not account for a traffic accident in Punta Arenas, in the Magallanes region. It is worth mentioning that the victim suffered fractures after being trapped in the door of the bus.
The Oral Criminal Court of Punta Arenas sentenced a bus driver who was involved in a traffic accident, in which a passenger suffered fractures and bruises.
Specifically, the man was permanently unable to drive vehicles again and must wear an electronic anklet for 641 days.
This accident occurred on March 13, 2017, when the public transport service was in charge of the Movigas company.

According to the indictment, around 10:30 a.m. the convicted man entered the Clinical Hospital de Magallanes to drop off and receive passengers. As the car stopped, a woman got off the bus, but the driver closed the doors without noticing her and stepped on the accelerator.
The victim was trapped in one of his limbs. The vehicle dragged her for a few meters until she fell to the ground. After this, the woman suffered a fractured humerus and bruises on her left knee and foot. According to the accusation, these are serious injuries that took more than 30 days to heal.
After the accident, the defendant stopped and asked about the woman’s condition. However, he later continued on his way without calling the authorities.

The bus driver was sentenced for serious bodily harm and failure to report the car accident.
A total of 641 days in prison were imposed, but the sentence was replaced by partial night imprisonment. While the sentence is prolonged, he will be prohibited from leaving his home between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. The Gendarmerie will monitor his compliance through an electronic anklet.
In addition, he was permanently disqualified from driving mechanical traction vehicles and will have to pay a fine of 2 UTM (about 120 thousand pesos).
