“I was almost paralyzed”: Maribel Guardia recounted the two occasions on which she was about to die

The actress Maribel Guardia goes through one of the best moments of her career, showing a sensual figure at 61 years old. However, a few days ago she revealed one of the most critical stages of her life, since she was about to become paraplegic due to a cardiovascular event that affected the mobility of her legs. This is what he said for the show program Ventaneando .

Maribel revealed that she had suffered from a stroke, an obstruction that can occur in the veins or arteries and that can cause mobility problems and seizures. The body causing the blockage is usually called a “plunger”. As revealed by the Costa Rican, this happened to her when she was very young, but she never knew what affected her or why she was affected:

Once it seemed to me that it was like a cerebral embolism and I was paralyzed and not speaking. And the truth is, I never knew what it was. They did tests and they told me that a vein was going to burst in my brain but it didn’t happen. Yes I was paralyzed and in the end I was cured, I didn’t even know how

The actress said that she also did not know how she was cured, as she recalls that the doctors sent her to do various medical tests to detect the source of the problem, however, they could never discover the cause of that disease. Maribel revealed that just as she suffered from the condition, she left suddenly and was able to regain some of her mobility, although she had to go to therapy to improve her condition.

This is just one of the life and death experiences in which the actress has had to fight to survive, the second being an even more traumatic experience since not only she could lose her life but also her son Julián Figueroa, the fruit of her marriage. with singer Joan Sebastian.

That experience took place on the beaches of Acapulco, Guerrero. She was on vacation with her son and they were both swimming on the seashore, it was then that a very strong wave pulled them towards an area where the actress could no longer support herself. Julián was still a child and he was scared, however the turbulence of the water made Maribel let go of the boy, she asked him to swim but Julián was afraid and preferred to return to his mother’s arms.

Fortunately, the same current allowed them to return to a part of the beach where they could step on again, which allowed them to escape the desperate situation. So he said:

Once I almost drowned, with Julián, in the sea, in Acapulco. A wave took us and there came a time when I was not stepping on it and I released him to swim, but he was afraid and he returned to my arms. Thank God it came back into my hands because it would have been a tragedy, we would have both died.

Recently, the actress has just been saved from being infected with COVID-19, as she considered it after she was invited to the morning program Hoy, because she was very close to the host Andrea Legarreta, who at the end of that week made a study and confirmed that she had the disease, a situation that led her to stop at a hospital due to complications of pneumonia caused by the virus.
