An inmate who was treated in the former Central Post Office tried to steal the weapon from a gendarme who was guarding him, while another patient had a psychotic picture. The man’s actions were opportunely frustrated.
A prisoner caused fear inside the former Posta Central in Santiago, Metropolitan region, after trying to steal a gendarme’s weapon. This provoked a large operation.
Everything happened in the afternoon of this Saturday, after the prisoner was transferred from the Santiago 1 penitentiary.
According to information handled by Radio Bío Bío, in the room next to where the man was there was a person who was being treated for a psychotic condition, a situation that the inmate would have taken advantage of. to try to steal the weapon from his custodian, however, he was unsuccessful

This prompted a extensive security operation inside the healthcare facility by the security guards of the former Central Post.
The foregoing caused fear in patients and officials , who tried to leave the premises en masse, due to the actions of the prisoner at the former Central Post Office.
Radio confirmed that there were no shots fired nor injured people as a result of the contingency.
