Who was Vanessa Zappalà, killed by her ex-boyfriend already reported for stalking
“It doesn’t matter to me, he’s just jealous”: so spoke Vanessa Zappalà, the 26-year-old killed with several gunshots fired by her ex-boyfriend on the seafront of Aci Trezza, in the province of Catania, by Antonino Sciuto, the 39-year-old, still sought by the police, already reported for stalking by the victim.
According to what has been reconstructed, the girl was killed in the night between Sunday 22 and Monday 23 August. The man, who, as mentioned, had been denounced several times by the victim for stalking and was currently subject to a ban on approaching, reached Vanessa, who was in the company of some friends, to seek clarification, then fired some shots at point blank range. , also slightly injuring a friend of the young woman.
That of Vanessa Zappalà was unfortunately an announced tragedy, as also testified by a post of a friend of hers, who wrote on Facebook: “I warned you every evening: ‘Be careful that she lurks under our house’”.
“So many times I sent you messages ‘Be careful Vale, I’m afraid’ – writes the friend again – and you answered ‘Don’t worry, it’s just jealous’”.

Born in Trecastagni, a village on the slopes of Etna, Vanessa Zappalà worked in a bakery. “You did home and work, a quiet, good, kind, polite girl”: this is how a friend describes her on social media.
And now in the village, where everyone knew the girl, many are asking for justice, trying to understand why, despite the complaints, Vanessa’s killer had the freedom to approach the girl and take her life.
