Although the sixth installment was the final closure for the successful program, its protagonists, Tom Ellis (Lucifer) and Lauren German (Chloe Decker), have shown themselves apt to reprise their roles in a film project related to Lucifer in the future. This was revealed in an interview with The Wrap.
“My fantasy is that we shoot a Lucifer movie, but in the style of Naked gun and Airplane. So if we could ask fans if they agree with a Naked Gun / Airplane-style Lucifer movie … But no, I mean, Tom says it so well … How do you say it? It is the right moment to say goodbye ”, specified German.

“Yes, it seems like the right time. Never say never, and all that stuff, but this feels like the embodiment of these characters in this show, it feels like this is the right time to end. Will we reprise these roles? I do not know. But at least the movie sounds fun in the future”Ellis detailed.
Lucifer, the ending explained by the showrunners
The sixth installment of the successful title was almost like a long goodbye and, despite what might be assumed at first instance, the idea of Morning Star becoming a therapist was planned since they thought that the fifth part was going to be the last in the series.
“When we thought we were going to end in season five, we knew that was not his destiny: it never seemed right to him to be God. And what felt good is that he gave back what he learned. What was his unique perspective. He knows what it’s like to be the fallen one. He knows what it’s like to hate himself and not feel worthy, and that was his super power. If he could help others … Not that all hell is worthy of redemption, but it always felt good that he took that role, “he explained. Ildy Modrovich, Lucifer showrunner, in an interview with Collider.
“It was one of those things that we started to realize, well, what is it, what is the culmination of this character? And it is that hell is a reflection of Lucifer. When he was down there, he tortured himself and people tortured themselves. Lucifer now believes in redemption and that is why he is making hell reflect this. And there is something very beautiful in that thought, “he added. Joe henderson, also title showrunner.
