This is another project that is beginning around the character of MacGyver. In 1985, the original series gave Richard Dean Anderson, one of his first big roles. In 2016, a reboot has been proposed by CBS with Lucas Till in the role of the young Angus ” Mac ” MacGyver. It turns out to be rather successful, since a fifth season has already been commissioned. But it will now face competition with MacGruber, a parody that has just been commissioned.
MacGruber, in the direction of the streaming
MacGruber is a parody of MacGyver imagined by Will Forte within the framework of the Saturday Night Live. It is clearly the style of the grotesque and humor. A film of the same name had seen the light of day in 2010. At the time, it’s Will Forte himself who embodied the character. It was a failure at the box-office, as Forbes has even ranked among the top 10 flops of the year. It was broadcast only once in France, on OCS Max, in 2013.
But, a series will now be proposed to give a new life to the character. The first season comprised of 8 episodes, will take place 10 years after the events of the film. Will Forte himself will resume his role, but he is also a writer and executive producer of the series. Here is the synopsis :

It is the platform of streaming Peacock (only released in the United States), which belongs to the group NBC, who just ordered this set for the least original. It is expected in the horizon of 2021.
