After the farewell of George Russell, gliding in the direction of Mercedes alongside Lewis Hamilton, Williams browsed through the daisy of candidates for their seat for 2022, choosing Alexander Albon. The official announcement arrived at 2 pm directly from the British team, confirming the rumors that had spread in recent weeks, with the Anglo-Thai driver who will maintain his ties with Red Bull despite the move to Grove. Williams simultaneously confirmed Nicholas Latifi, who will lead to four consecutive years in the team, three as an official driver.

Jost Capito, Williams CEO, commented: “Announcing our line-up for 2022 is fantastic and I am delighted to welcome Alex to the team, confirming my confidence in Nicholas for next season as well.
