The successful mobile free to play turns five, and Niantic is celebrating it in style.
During the past weekend, Niantic has celebrated the fifth anniversary from Pokemon go with an event. That is not unusual, because it happens every year, but the 2021 edition has been very special because it has closed with a flourish: a charming reimagined version of the main theme of the game, which adds voices to the instrumental part.
A more than welcome surprise that appeared on the post-event night, in local time, complementing the musical theme which Niantic had bet on this year. And all of The Pokémon Company, actually, because the P25 label had already left us with several collaborations with well-known artists such as Katy Perry or Post Malone.
During the event, players were able to find many creatures related to music and sound more frequently in the wild – Whismur, Jigglypuff or Chimecho among them; although if they had kept up with the core RPGs, Toxtricity would have joined the party — and they also had a themed loading screen about a concert on the beach.

It goes without saying that it is still among the most lucrative games on the mobile market and that it will continue to expand for the foreseeable future. The next stop is the Alola Pokédex and the 7th Generation Pokémon, with Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio leading the way.
