The time to elect a new president for Colombia has arrived. This Sunday, May 29, the country will elect the candidate who best represents the needs of the nation and with the best capabilities, according to the citizens themselves. For this reason, it is important that no one misses out on the possibility of their vote being valid.
It must be taken into account that due to different circumstances, your vote could be invalidated, especially due to the way in which the marking is done, which may be incorrect and, therefore, would not enter the count of valid votes. To avoid these setbacks, the ideal is to make sure or ask the voting jurors what is the correct way to mark the ballot before going to the cubicle to exercise your right.
However, here we also tell how you can do it without making mistakes. The first thing you should know before anything else is that without a citizenship card you will not be allowed to acquire the respective card, since you do not officially identify yourself before the jurors at the voting table.

The second thing is to be clear about the place where you have to appear to vote, that includes location and table, which you can consult through the page of the National Registry of Civil Status or in the Infovotantes app. In addition, in the place where it is your turn to vote, you will be able to consult your table, if it is the only thing you do not know.
On the other hand, once you are in front of the jurors, you must request the ballot and go to one of the cubicles that are arranged so that you can cast your vote with total privacy and comfort. There you will find in 8 boxes the presidential candidates with their respective vice-presidential formulas, which would be ideal if they had already been decided to avoid delays in the polling stations.
In the ballot mark with a “X”, without leaving the box, to the candidate of your choice. Remember that although other types of signs are accepted when marking the card, what is most recommended is an “X”; however, if you make a mistake when voting, you can request a new card from the jury table and mark your candidate again.

Other things to keep in mind is that some of the candidates that will appear on the ballot are no longer running for the presidency, as is the case of Ingrid Betancourt, who resigned weeks before the elections, like Luis Pérez, therefore, if you check their box, your vote will not be taken into account.
The candidates who are still in the electoral contest will be located in these positions within the ballot: in the first box will be the Santander candidate Rodolfo Hernández and his vice-presidential formula Marelen Castillo Torres for the Anti-Corruption Governors League, on the right, in the second box , will be John Milton Rodríguez with Sandra de las Lajas Torres for the Colombia Justa y Libres party and in the third the candidate of the Team for Colombia Federico Gutiérrez together with Rodrigo Lara Sánchez.
Then, In the next row of candidates, there is Sergio Fajardo with Luis Gilberto Murillo for the Centro Esperanza Coalition, followed to the right by Enrique Gómez and Carlos Cuartas and finishing the second row is Gustavo Petro with Francia Márquez of the Pact for Colombia.< /p>
