In recent years, the forge of talents managed by Helmut Marko on behalf of Red Bull, she found herself without candidates ready for her debut in F1 to the point of forcing the leaders of the Milton Keynes team to flesh out the ranks in the then Toro Rosso giving a second chance to Daniil Kvyat and recalling drivers in previously discarded as Brendon Hartley and Alexander Albon, with the latter even having the chance to drive for the factory team for a year and a half in 2019 and 2020.
Now, however, Helmut Marko finds himself with the opposite problem. THE candidates are not lacking unlike the seats, which are always four. Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez, Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda go towards confirmation: the thrust from below, however, is felt. Juri Vips is defending himself well in F2, Dennis Hauger is dominating F3 and Liam Lawson is disengaging with profit in both F2 and DTM.
Interviewed by Newstalk ZB magazine Helmut Marko spent words of appreciation for the New Zealand driver born in 2002: “Liam Lawson he’s a down-to-earth guy who always takes responsibility when he makes a mistake – the words of the Red Bull consultant – he is serious, honest and hard working. He works well with engineers, is very analytical and effective in identifying and solving problems. Plus, it’s ambitious. He will be with us at the simulator in Milton Keynes for the next two weeks. At the end of September we will carry out our assessments in view of 2022. I do not know, however, if there will be a free seat in F1 ″.
