The report, published on Tuesday, said that General Mark Milley, Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, called his Chinese counterpart “twice”, to reassure Chinese fears that Donald Trump, who was president of the United States at the time, would ignite a war with China.
According to the report, General Millie Trump did not tell those calls and kept them secret, while Trump’s days in the White House were numbered.

These talks are vital to improving mutual understanding of the US national security interests, reducing tensions, providing clarity and avoiding unintended consequences or conflict, the spokesperson emphasized.
