He is the first of the group to having to incorporate the army. Jin, the oldest of the seven stars of BTS, will begin his military service in South Korea. All South Korean men under the age of 30 must perform compulsory military service for about two years, mainly due to the threat from North Korea. And Jin, aged 29, deadline approaching.
According to the Yonhap news agency, which cites military sources, he will begin to serve in the army on December 13 and will complete his compulsory classes from five weeks to Yeoncheon, near Seoul, before being assigned to in “one unit in the front line.”.

Jin will be affected; first line

A debate has long raged in South Korea over whether or not to grant the group exemptions from military service, in view of of his contribution to; the country’s economy and cultural influence. These exemptions are already in place. given to Olympic medalists and top classical musicians, among others.
BTS’ announced last month that the members of the group would perform their military service well. In August, the Ministry of Defense had clarified that the seven boys could continue to to play and to perform on stage during their presence in the army.
