At a press conference after the failure, Osaka admitted that she intends to suspend her career, citing a difficult emotional state. “Lately, I don’t feel happy if I win. Only relief. And defeat is sad. I think this is not entirely normal, ”she said.
Osaka, 23, has won the US Open twice. Also, the Japanese woman won the Australian Open twice. In 2019, she ranked first in the WTA rankings.
