A cottage in the suburbs of the English city of Liverpool, where the lead guitarist of the legendary band The Beatles George Harrison grew up, will be sold at auction. The corresponding entry is posted in catalog auction house Omega Auctions, which organizes the bidding.

The house on Upton Street was estimated at 160-200 thousand pounds (16-20 million rubles). The Harrison family moved into the mansion in 1950, when the future famous musician was six years old. There he spent his childhood and adolescence – until 1962, and already in 1963, The Beatles’ first disc, Please Please Me, was released.

The cottage is about 14 kilometers away from the city center and has three bedrooms, a bathroom, a toilet and a dining room with a kitchen. There is a small garden in the backyard. The house has been renovated, but it still has a few furnishings from the days when Harrison lived there. In particular, several doors, a bath, a sink and a kitchen cupboard have been preserved.
Online bidding for the sale of the mansion and many other lots related to The Beatles will take place on September 28 this year.
Two weeks earlier it became known that musician Paul McCartney is preparing for publication a book called The Lyrics, which will include the lyrics of previously unknown songs by The Beatles. The piece will be based on McCartney’s conversations with the poet Paul Muldoon. The book covers all stages of McCartney’s work and is described as “a self-portrait in 154 songs.”
