The Tourism Online Academy, created by the World Tourism Organization (OMT) with the support of IE University, signed a an agreement with the Externado University of Colombia and the University of Palermo in Argentina to develop four courses on content linked to trends in the tourism sector.
Specifically, the themes will deal with topics such as the Conceptual framework of tourism; Legal and institutional framework of tourism; Value chain in tourism; and Development of entrepreneurship and innovation in the tourism sector.
These educational programs will be available on the platform in the coming months with the aim of promoting training and excellence in the travel industry.
With these additions, a total of Eight entities already participate in the platform, including Sommet Education (Switzerland), Swiss Education Group (Switzerland), IE University, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Totem and UNWTO.

The contribution of these two universities to this project reinforces the training offer of the Tourism Online Academy, which currently has 22 courses in English and Spanish.
So far, more than 15,000 Professionals in the sector have updated and deepened their training thanks to this platform, which also allows students to obtain certificates for their studies.

Through the UNWTO Tourism Online Academy we have created a space where you can access courses taught by the best universities in the world. The Tourism Online Academy is a learning platform that offers training 100% through the internet and focused, fundamentally, on concepts, areas of interest and principles related to the tourism sector.
Likewise, the courses address the challenges facing tourism, among others, globalization, the digital revolution or travel marketing and sustainability. These programs are flexible and allow participants to reconcile academic, professional, and personal commitments.
