A hundred children have died from the impact of the 5.6-magnitude earthquake that shook Indonesia last Monday, according to figures provided this Wednesday by the authorities, which brought the total number of victims to 271.
The Indonesian emergency services have located a six-year-old boy alive who had been buried by the earthquake on Monday.
This is a terrible event that has already left more than 270 fatalities, according to the official balance released this Wednesday.
Specifically, the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) includes 271 deaths in its count, while some 40 people remain missing.

The above, after the earthquake originated near the city of Cianjur, in West Java, reports the Indonesian television channel Kompas.
In the last few hours, however, a surviving child was located in the rubble of a house in the town of Nagrek, in the Cianjur district of Indonesia.
The minor, named Azka, was found some 40 hours after the first tremors next to the lifeless body of his grandmother.
The authorities estimate that more than 2,300 properties have suffered damage from the earthquake, which has also left more than a thousand injured and around 58,000 displaced.
Several aid organizations work together with local authorities to care for the victims.
The Director of Humanitarian Emergency Affairs of Wahana Visi Indonesia (World Vision in Indonesia) , Yacobus Runtuwene, has confirmed in a statement the presence of the NGO in the town of Cigenang, “where almost 100 percent of the houses have been destroyed and most of the victims are children”.
