In the last few hours, multiple police events have taken place in the Metropolitan region. Among them was the discovery of a dead woman inside a drum in San Ramón, the death of a person in the Forest Park, and a shooting in the commune of La Florida.
Specifically, the latest case took place last night, when a group of individuals faced more than 70 shots on public roads, which left three people dead, one in life-threatening and one injured.
In conversation with Expreso Bío Bío from La Radio, the mayor of Florida, Rodolfo Carter, confirmed that the weapon used was 9 mm and not weapons of war, as was said in the first instance. In addition, he condemned the situation and said he was concerned about the safety of the residents of the community.
& # 8220; This is the country that we do not have to accept. I call on the authorities to act more quickly (…) This would allow criminals to start being afraid. They do this because they know that nothing is going to happen to them”, said the community chief.
This morning Carter and the undersecretary for crime prevention, Eduardo Vergara, met and discussed speeding up police actions, since it cannot be that “children are normalizing crime and violence& #8221;.
The interviewee stated that among the characteristics that could contribute to public security in the country, would be: improve street lighting, provide the police, a Public Ministry with resources, and prevent drug use.
Regarding the action of the police, the community authority asserted that it does not consider persecution through shootings, but that “ a citizen and a criminal, I prefer that a criminal die”, he concluded.
