“Today half of the police vehicles have expired useful life”, said the Minister of the Interior this Monday during a visit to Osorno, who explained that with the total invested, 1,052 vehicles can be purchased to be distributed among all the country’s communes.
During her visit to Osorno on Monday, the Minister of the Interior, Carolina Tohá, confirmed an investment of $27 billion to recover the fleet of police patrols.
In total, the amount considers the acquisition of 1,052 cars, which will be distributed among all the communes.

Consulted by the press about the work of the Carabineros, the minister explained that the objective of this initiative aims to “provide the police with greater possibilities of access to vehicles”.
“Today half of the police vehicles have its useful life has expired”, revealed Tohá.
“We have many places, for example La Araucanía, where there are security problems that we know of, that one of every three cars is in the workshop”, she stated.
