In one of his books, Guy Bedos mentioned the relationship he had with his mother, who was very violent with him during his childhood.
The death of Guy Bedos, on Thursday 28 may 2020, has upset countless fans. This is her son, Nicolas, Bedos, who announced the sad news on his account Instagram, unveiling his pride in “having for father”. If the comedian passed away at 85 years of age was particularly loved by the filmmaker, 41 years of age, this was not really the case with her own mother. In its issue of June 3, the Here Paris evokes the childhood of a rather special kind of Guy Bedos.
This last was the son of a director of laboratories of the pharmaceutical products by the name of Alfred andHildeberte Verdier, daughter of the headmaster of the lycée Bugeaud located in Algiers, Algeria. The least we can say is that the youth of Guy Bedos has been a very eventful one. Very early in his life, his parents separate. It is for this reason that it has been entrusted to his mother, with whom he grew up. Unfortunately for him, his birth was not really the type to give him a lot of affection. As explained in our colleagues, when Guy Bedos has pushed its first cry on June 15, 1934, he was not welcomed in the way the softer it is. At her birth, her mother exclaims : “My God, it is ugly, it looks like a small Jewish !”.
A mother who “was not kind”
By way of education on the part of Hildeberte Verdier, Guy Bedos has been beaten. His mother is indeed very violent with him, as he explained in one of his books. “I remember the torgnoles blows of the flogger, the whip, hanger, belt, hands tied to the foot of the bed,” confided a humorist in writing. In his autobiography Mémoires d’outre-mère , published in 2006, Guy Bedos, tells that his father beats his mother. In 2014 during an interview that he gave on the set of the show Signed Mireille Dumas broadcast on France 3, he said that his mother was hitting him with the “heavy objects”, but also that it was racist and represented “everything he hates as a human being”. “She was not nice, but I loved him”, added Guy Bedos, obviously very little spiteful about it.
