Volkswagen Golf R it is already a performance car in itself, with the German car manufacturer offering a more than satisfactory configuration for fans of this model on the eighth generation of its best seller. ABT Sportsline however, it was not satisfied with this and wanted to push the new Golf R even further, developing a special kit that made the Teutonic sports car even more extreme.
Volkswagen Golf GTI: new tuning, new look
The car tuning company from Audi, Seat, Škoda and Volkswagen first got its hands on the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that would normally deliver 320 hp allowing a sprint from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.7 seconds, boosting the control unit to the point of reaching 390 hp and 470 Nm of torque. The computer did not provide the performance data but with this power boost it is easy to think that the Golf R is now capable of covering 0-100 km / h in 4 seconds flat. The car with which ABT Sportsline has advertised its new kit features a specific wheelset, with rims finished with an airbrushed pattern on the rear pillar. However, ABT’s work would not be finished. The specialized company has in fact made it known that it is working on the development of a new dedicated exhaust system and specific suspensions.
