Xbox Series X will share some controller functionality with Xbox One.
Sony has made its new DualSense controller a key feature of PS5, in reverse Microsoft it didn’t offer all this differentiation between controllers Xbox One And Xbox Series X / S. And now, some of the unique features of the XSX gamepad will be added to older controllers via a firmware update.
Starting now, Xbox Insider Program participants can download a firmware update for Xbox One, Xbox Elite Series 2, and Xbox Adaptive controllers. The update adds support for the Dynamic Latency Input And Bluetooth Low Energy, which should make it easier for controllers to connect to something other than an Xbox (PC, iOS, and Android devices).
“For Xbox Series X, the team devised a solution where the new controller samples and broadcasts the most up-to-date input just before the game requires it. The result is a “just in time” delivery which they call “Dynamic Latency Input (DLI)”. The system now keeps the controller precisely synchronized with the game for both analog and digital inputs. The most up-to-date input arrives at the console just before it is needed for the game. The result: significantly lower controller latency. Plus, it’s all done without sacrificing anything in terms of battery life“.
