You don’t need to go West to see the “Gwenn ha du” – in Breton, “ white and black” – : The modern flag of Brittany appears regularly in stadiums, concert halls… and even at the heart of demonstrations!

It must be said that the compound pavilion with a speckle of ermine and nine stripes (five black, which represent the countries of Upper Brittany, and four white stripes, which symbolize the countries of Lower Brittany) has become, since its creation at the beginning of ;turn of the 20th century, hyperpopular.

“Today, the Breton flag is really ubiquitous, it floats on almost all (Breton) town halls, we find it everywhere,” explains Nicolas Graignic, creator of the YouTube channel Istoerioù Breizh.
