Taliban in talks with Afghan government over ‘peaceful surrender’
The Taliban are negotiating a “peaceful surrender” of Kabul with the Afghan government. That reports Reuters news agency. Afghan President Ashraf Ghani holds talks with US diplomats and NATO officials about the rapid advance of the Taliban in the capital.
Kabul was surrounded by Taliban fighters on Sunday morning. They have also been spotted in the city itself, but the movement itself claims not to enter the city yet and go for a nonviolent conquest.

- The Taliban attacked the Afghan capital on Sunday reached Kabul. It is the only major city not yet in the hands of the terrorist movement.
- In a statement, the movement says no violence to be used in the capture of Kabul. The fighters are said to have been ordered to stand at the gates of the capital, but not yet enter.
- It is not known whether violence was used. News agencies report that there sporadic gunshots can be heard in the capital.
- The United States started on Sunday with the evacuating embassy personnel. To that end, President Joe Biden has sent 5,000 troops to Afghanistan.
