Ann-Kathrin Stracke, a German journalist, filed a complaint against Valéry Giscard d’estaing for sexual assault, accusing him of having touched the buttocks several times at a meeting in 2018.
The complaint was made to the parquet de Paris on march 10. This is Ann-Kathrin Stracke, a German journalist of 37 years, who filed the complaint, accusing the former president of the Republic of sexual assault. According to the content of the complaint to which the World has had access, it says that Valéry Giscard d’estaing has raised the hand on the buttocks several times during an interview that took place in 2018.
The journalist, working then for the German public channel WDR, recounts will be made on 18 December 2018 in the paris office of Valéry Giscard d’estaing, in order to carry out an interview of him on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Helmut Schmidt, chancellor when Valéry Giscard d’estaing was president. If the interview goes off without a hitch, it is in a photo taken after this one that T would have placed his hand on the butt of the German journalist. An act that would be repeated just after in a second photo and then he showed the reporter a series of photographs representative with personalities. Ann-Kathrin Stracke stated that the former president at the time of the leave, he would have slipped in German : “sweet dreams”.
T says he does not remember the meeting
The journalist who complained to his superiors of these events upon his return to Germany, claims to have been encouraged to complain by the movement MeToo who showed him “how important it is to discuss these topics in society”. The chain where she works, WDR, sent in may 2019 a letter to the former president of the Republic to railing against his behavior during this meeting. The cameraman Ann-Kathrin Stracke has supported his statements, indicating they have found the behavior of Valéry Giscard d’estaing is”inappropriate”, while T is said to have no memory of this meeting.
