The Ministry of Education and Science of Dagestan will check one of the schools in the village of Madzhalis of the Kaitag region of the republic after complaints from parents that their daughters are forced to wear a headscarf to class. It is reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the department.

The ministry decided that the requirements for students’ clothing and the obligation to wear it are established by a normative act of a general education organization, but the decision to introduce these requirements should be made by all participants in the educational process and take into account the material capabilities of low-income and large families.

According to the interlocutor TASSIf parents disagree with the decisions of school administrations affecting the rights and interests of children, they have the right to submit an official complaint to law enforcement agencies or the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic.
It is reported that the inspection has already been organized, the deputy director of the school who exceeded his authority was relieved of his post.
In May, Rosobrnadzor announced that by the end of 2021 it will conduct quality checks on education in the country’s schools. Based on the results of mass inspections, a map of problem areas will be drawn up so that each governor or head of the republic can see in one click in which municipality he has problems.
