Fighters of the Taliban terrorist movement (banned in Russia) beheaded Sohail Pardis, a translator who worked for the United States. Writes about this CNN.
The man was attacked at one of the checkpoints near Kabul. According to witnesses, the Taliban wanted to stop the car, but Pardis tried to escape. Then the militants opened fire on the translator’s car, then pulled the man out and beheaded him.
Shortly before the incident, Pardis told friends that he was afraid for his life: the Taliban learned that he had worked with the Americans for 16 months. “They told him that he was a spy and a traitor, and that they would kill him and his entire family,” a friend of the deceased told CNN.
At the same time, at a press conference in Moscow in early July, representatives of the movement promised not to persecute translators who worked with the Americans.
