The announcement high-profile of Vladimir Putin surprised everyone on Tuesday 11 August 2020. The Russian president has declared, that its country had developed a vaccine against the Covid-19.
It is, therefore, at the Institute Gamaleïa, which is located in Moscow, that we would have discovered what the laboratories around the world are trying to create : a cure for the pandemic.
In Russia, phase III (one or experiments in large number are carried out to verify the effectiveness of the vaccines) would be in the course, and the Russian president also stressed that his own daughter has participated in these tests, confirming its total confidence in the work of scientists in moscow.
A vaccine as early as January 1, 2021 ?
According to the first results analysed by the Institute Gamaleïa, the acquired immunity would be sustainable , as estimated at this stage to two years. Russia promises the continuation of tests in the next few weeks, and already provides for the manufacture of millions of doses of this vaccine as early as January 2021.
For its part, the World Health Organization (WHO) is already close to Russia to discuss the next phases of manufacturing, it being understood that the WHO calls on all countries to adhere to codes and stringent rules in this race against the vaccine. The urgency of the situation must not make us forget the scientific methods proven was reminded of the side of the WHO. The latter wished to recall that, at this stage, 4 vaccines in total were in phase III.
